ABOUT

I’m a senior at the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno. My passion for communications started when I joined Spring Valley High School’s student newspaper, The Grizzly Growler. I transferred to UNR to pursue my interest in public relations in January 2022. During my time as a student, I became a staff member at the Nevada Sagebrush and UNR’s PRSSA chapter.

Currently, I serve as Three Square Food Bank’s advocacy intern for the summer of 2024. On the side, I assist Las Vegas Fencing Academy in strategic communications.

EXPERIENCE

Advocacy Intern — Three Square Food Bank

Las Vegas, Nev. | May 2024-Present

Coordinate and engage in one-on-one meetings to inform individuals on Three Square’s advocacy efforts and advocacy agenda.
Aid in the creation of an advocacy toolkit to educate partners, neighbors and internal staff about effective ways to engage in advocacy.
Maintain accurate records of advocacy participation and identify key advocates for certain projects.
Serve as a credible source of knowledge and information to community members who desire to know more about the food insecurity landscape.
